Mobile games publisher Tamatem has raised USD 2.5 million in Series A Funding. Based in Jordan, the 500 Startups backed startup produces localized versions of popular games for the Arab World.

While the funding round saw the participation of Discovery Nusantara Capital, Raed Ventures, Vision Venture Capital, and Seed Equity Venture Partners, it was led by Wamda Capital.

Tamatem partners with international studios and developers, take their games, localize them and make them culturally relevant for the Arabic gamer. It focuses on publishing racing, drifting, RPG-MMO, strategy, puzzle and word and trivia games.

Led by its CEO Hussam Hummo and COO Eyad Al Basheer, the startup has its main office in Amman and a second unit in Mountain View, California.
